On April 25, Dong Nai General Hospital celebrated its 123rd anniversary (1902 - 2025) and 10 years of inheritance and development (April 25, 2015 - April 25, 2025).
Doctor CKII Ngo Duc Tuan - Director of Dong Nai General Hospital - said that 123 years ago, in Bien Hoa town, a medical facility was built mainly to serve the people living in the town, named Bien Hoa Hospital (also known as the Bien Hoa pilot hospital) which is the predecessor of the current Dong Nai General Hospital. Up to now, the hospital has been upgraded and expanded, on April 25, 2015, Dong Nai General Hospital officially moved to a new, spacious and modern facility on Dong Khoi Street, Tam Hoa Ward, Bien Hoa City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. CKII Nguyen Van Binh - Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Dong Nai province - said that Dong Nai General Hospital is one of two hospitals in the province that are classified as technical specialists as specialized hospitals.
The hospital currently has 1,150 beds, 30 clinical departments, 11 rooms, and 9 paraclinical departments.
As of January 2025, Dong Nai General Hospital has 1,679 staff - employees, 350 doctors, 1 doctorate, 38 masters, 29 CKII doctors and nearly 100 CKI doctors, 60 pharmacists with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Dong Nai General Hospital has also taken on the additional task of being the department of care and protection for staff.
Currently, the hospital has performed many specialized techniques, successfully transferred open heart surgery techniques, and has a laboratory that meets ISO 15189:2022 standards...
The hospital has also successfully implemented regular spending autonomy, the lives of staff and civil servants are guaranteed, and is a reliable medical examination and treatment address for Dong Nai people and neighboring provinces with the number of medical examinations from 3,500-4.000 visits/day.
However, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Health Nguyen Van Binh also suggested that Dong Nai General Hospital prepare to face challenges and opportunities.
The hospital's facilities have begun to deteriorate, the departments have degraded, the hospital must urgently arrange and submit to competent authorities to supplement funding, repair and renovate to meet the increasingly high needs of the people, the deteriorated facilities will be compared to other medical examination and treatment facilities better. In addition, when the hospital's equipment is depleted, it is necessary to supplement it to avoid shortages.
Regarding digital transformation, by September 30, all hospitals nationwide must have electronic medical records. Therefore, Dong Nai General Hospital is taking a direction, together with the Department of Health, to complete this digital transformation content.
Many new legal regulations have been issued, related to the Law on Health Insurance, the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, issues related to the use of public assets, procurement, bidding... hospitals must regularly direct, research and implement well, in accordance with legal regulations.
