According to the Supporting Industry Development Program for the period 2026 - 2035, the city focuses on developing supporting industries for 5 key industries including electronics, high technology, mechanical engineering, automobiles and textiles - footwear. By 2035, strive to achieve a localization rate of 35 - 40% for the electronics industry, 20% for the high technology industry, 50% for the mechanical engineering industry, 32 - 40% for the automobile industry and 70% for the textiles - footwear industry.
Regarding business development, by 2030, Hai Phong strives to have 300 - 350 supporting industry enterprises with sufficient capacity to participate in the supply chain of FDI enterprises and multinational corporations; and at the same time support enterprises to improve management capacity, train high-quality human resources, research, innovation and technology transfer.
By 2035, the city aims to have 450-500 supporting industry enterprises, forming a core force of enterprises capable of researching, designing, manufacturing and directly supplying to large domestic and international manufacturing corporations. Along with that, continue to support enterprises to improve management capacity, develop research and development (R&D), apply new technologies; gradually complete the supporting industry ecosystem associated with digital transformation, green transformation, innovation and sustainable development.
Hai Phong aims to attract high-quality FDI projects with spillover effects in technology and management; gradually forming a production linkage ecosystem between FDI enterprises and domestic enterprises. At the same time, aiming to build a supporting industry ecosystem and a network of enterprises capable of producing and supplying components, spare parts, and technical materials to serve the key industries of the city, the key economic region of the North and the region.
