Accordingly, the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census aims to fully and comprehensively collect information about rural areas and agricultural, forestry and fishery production in the province, serving the direction and administration of socio-economic development; building and adjusting strategies, plans, and plans for rural and agricultural development of the province in the coming period.
According to preliminary reports, as of July 1, 2025, Bac Ninh province has 66 administrative units as communes, with 1,922 villages; 473,947 households residing in rural areas.
On average, each village has about 247 households, an increase compared to the average of 238 households/village in 2016.
100% of communes and villages have national grid electricity. The grassroots education and health network is consolidated synchronously with 100% of communes having schools at all levels (kindergarten, primary school, secondary school) and health stations meeting national criteria.
100% of communes have cultural houses; over 90% of villages have sports areas and loudspeaker systems, ensuring spiritual life and timely information for people.
100% of communes have common domestic wastewater drainage systems and organize waste collection, contributing to significantly improving the landscape and quality of life.
The development of industrial zones and clusters has strongly impacted the rural labor structure. Compared to 2016, the proportion of agricultural, forestry and fishery households decreased (to 40.91%), while industrial, construction and service households increased rapidly.
Total rural labor reached nearly 1 million people, strongly shifting to the non-agricultural sector (accounting for 55.26%).
The farm model developed with 581 models, an increase of 10.25% compared to 2020, mainly focusing on the livestock sector (accounting for nearly 86%).
The number of agricultural enterprises increased sharply (158.49%) compared to 2015, showing that the level of mechanization and investment attraction in agriculture is increasing.
Conversely, the number of cooperatives tends to decrease but is gradually streamlining and shifting to the seafood sector.
Vice Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong assessed that the preliminary results of the General Survey have relatively fully reflected the picture of agriculture, rural areas and farmers of the province. This is an important basis to serve the leadership, direction, and policy planning for socio-economic development in the coming time.
