On the morning of March 17, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) held the draw for the 2025 National Second Division.
Speaking at the draw ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy General Secretary of VFF said: "The National Second Division Football Tournament is an important playground, contributing to maintaining and developing the football movement in localities, and at the same time being a launching pad for talented young players to compete, accumulate experience and gradually assert themselves on the journey to strive to advance to the professional level".
The 2025 National Second Division has the participation of 15 teams, an increase of 1 team compared to last season. This partly shows the stable development of the tournament in the national non-professional football system.
Regarding the competition schedule, the first leg of the 2025 National Second Division will start from April 11 to May 13, 2025; the second leg will take place from May 21 to June 22, 2025.
According to the draw results, Group A includes the Hanoi Youth Club, Hoai Duc, PVF-CAND Youth, PVF, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh.
Group B includes Kon Tum, Tre SHB Da Nang, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Gia Dinh clubs, and Van Daan University.
This year's tournament will continue with a two-round format (home - away) to calculate points and rank, thereby determining the 4 best teams to qualify for the National First Division in the 2025-2026 season. At the same time, the team with the lowest result in the two groups will be relegated.
At this time, Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh clubs are two of the teams that "pon the morning" to the National First Division.
