According to the People's Procuracy of Cam Xuyen district, performing the function of prosecuting judicial activities in resolving disputes over marriage and family, the unit found that the divorce situation in the area has recently become complicated.
In 2022, the prosecution unit accepted to handle 179 cases, in 2023 it accepted to handle 212 cases, an increase of 33 cases; in 2024, it accepted to handle 220 cases, an increase of 41 cases compared to 2022; an increase of 8 cases compared to 2023.
Currently, divorce cases in the area are still on the rise. It is worth mentioning that among the above divorces, women alone account for over 70% and over 70% of divorces belong to families with couples aged 24-35, with young children accounting for 80%.
Of which, more than 40% of divorces are due to husband or wife going to work in remote localities in the country or abroad, leading to suspicions of mutual jealousy leading to gambling, alcohol and domestic violence.
The People's Procuracy of Cam Xuyen district determined that there are many reasons for divorce, but mainly due to couples disagreeing about the way of life and getting married at a young age; psychology is not really stable, and there is no careful preparation in Marriage knowledge and life skills before entering married life. When a conflict arises, the couple cannot find a way to resolve it, leading to a long, serious conflict that cannot be resolved.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Procuracy of Cam Xuyen district has issued a recommendation to the People's Committee of Cam Xuyen district to take measures to direct agencies, departments, branches, and organizations, especially the Youth Union and the Women's Union, to effectively educate members on the ideology of having a clean, healthy lifestyle, being responsible in protecting the family, protecting marriage as well as honor, dignity, and health of themselves and their families;
Strengthen communication work on maintaining family happiness, diversify forms of education so that young people have a correct and complete understanding of married life before and after marriage.
