On the afternoon of July 23, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to summarize the work of social insurance (BHXH), health insurance (BHYT), and unemployment insurance (BHTN) in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2026.
Attending and directing the conference were Mr. Chu Manh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of Vietnam Social Security and Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee.
According to the report, by the end of June 2026, the whole province had 424,339 people participating in social insurance, reaching 28.2% of the labor force; 291,695 people participating in unemployment insurance; more than 3.33 million people participating in health insurance, reaching a coverage rate of 96.7% of the population, exceeding the target of Resolution No. 268/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council by 0.7%.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Chu Manh Sinh acknowledged the results the province has achieved in the context of both arranging the organizational structure and implementing many new policies.
He proposed that localities continue to promote the role of Steering Committees at all levels, promote the development of participants, reduce late payments and strengthen digital transformation in implementing social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance policies.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Vice Chairwoman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the results achieved by the social insurance sector in the first 6 months of the year, especially ensuring timely resolution of regimes and policies, maintaining smooth operation after arranging the organizational structure.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, and localities to focus on developing social insurance and health insurance participants, determined to complete the goal of 100% of people participating in health insurance in 2026; and at the same time strengthen the management of the Health Insurance Fund, promote digital transformation, administrative reform and ensure the rights of insurance participants.
