The People's Procuracy has just coordinated with the People's Court of Binh Giang District (Hai Duong Province) to organize a trial to learn from the criminal case against defendant Hoang Van Giang (born in 1987, residing in An Do village, Bac Son commune, An Thi district, Hung Yen province) and his accomplices for the crimes of Theft of property and Consumption of property obtained by others.
According to the indictment, at about 2:00 p.m. on November 9, 2023 (need to check the date again), Hoang Van Giang and Dao Si Long (born in 1983, residing in Do My village, Bai Say commune, An Thi district, Hung Yen province) invited each other to go to Binh Giang district to find an unfinished house to steal property.
When arriving at Phu Da village, Hong Khe commune (Binh Giang district, Hai Duong province), Giang and Long sneaked into a car shed in front of Mr. Nguyen Van Doan's house, appropriated an electric motorbike worth 2,016,000 VND and then sold it to Nguyen Thi Hoa (born in 1965, residing in Phuong Duong village, Dao Duong commune, An Thi district) for 800,000 VND.
Then, at around 8:00 p.m. the same day, Giang and Long arrived at the area in front of Thai Son book store, Phu village (Thai Hoc commune, Binh Giang district, Hai Duong province). Here, Giang and Long continued to steal an electric motorbike worth VND 2,133,000 from Mr. Nguyen Van Dong and then sold it for personal expenses.
Notably, defendant Giang has been sentenced 4 times (including 2 times when his criminal record has not been cleared) and 1 time was administratively sanctioned. Defendant Long was sentenced 3 times (including 1 time when his criminal record had not been cleared) and 1 time was administratively sanctioned.
Based on the results of the questioning at the trial, considering the nature and danger of the crime, the Trial Council of the People's Court of Binh Giang District sentenced defendant Giang to 2 years and 9 months in prison, defendant Long to 1 year and 3 months in prison, all for the crime of Theft of property; defendant Hoa to 7 months in prison with a suspended sentence, a probationary period of 14 months for the crime of Consuming property obtained by others.
