Not afraid of danger Born and raised in the countryside of Thanh Mien (Hai Duong province), Tran Minh Vuong cherished the dream of becoming a doctor to take care of the health of his hometown's people.
In 2019, after graduating from Hai Phong University of Medicine, instead of choosing major hospitals, he returned to work at Thanh Mien District Medical Center.
As a surgeon, he takes on the work of examining and treating patients, participating in emergency care and performing many important surgeries.During his years working at Thanh Mien District Medical Center, he was always ready to depart for assignments despite facing many difficulties and dangers.
In early 2020, Thanh Mien district had the first COVID-19 infection in a young patient.At that time, the epidemic was tense and there was a high risk of death, so Hai Duong people were very worried.Not afraid of difficulties and dangers, Dr. Tran Minh Vuong stayed in the isolation area to monitor and treat the patient.
With a sense of responsibility and love for patients, every day, Dr. Vuong has devoted himself to taking care of the young child, talking, and encouraging him so that he is not afraid.
"At that time, I just thought about how to make the little girl and her family feel secure.Because I understand that at the peak of the epidemic, everyone is confused and scared.Therefore, I find a way to reassure people's souls and then gradually treat them.After half a month, the child was healthy and everyone was very happy.Every time I see the joy of a patient, I feel happy" - Dr. Vuong shared.
Not only completing professional tasks well, Dr. Vuong also volunteers to participate in many community health activities.In 2021, in response to the tense epidemic situation in the South, Dr. Vuong wrote a volunteer petition to go to the center to support patient treatment at Field Hospitals No. 7 and No. 16 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Giving away drops of pink blood
As a doctor, he understands the importance of donating blood to save lives.Dr. Vuong has participated in voluntary blood donation 15 times.In 2022 and 2023, he donated blood directly to the Medical Center 3 times to save the life of a critical patient.Although he is busy with work, he participates in 2 voluntary blood donations organized by the locality every year.
"Each drop of blood donated is an additional opportunity to save a patient's life.We must witness life-and-death moments, to understand how precious each drop of blood donated is.
I still remember, at 2 am, a patient was admitted to the hospital with a ruptured uterus and acute blood loss.At that time, the District Medical Center had no blood reserves, so emergency care was extremely difficult.Luckily, the patient and I had the same blood type, so I quickly donated blood to help the patient get through the death gate" - Dr. Vuong said.
In 2024, when Typhoon Yagi made landfall in the North, he not only participated in natural disaster prevention but also directly performed emergency surgery on a patient in a power outage and had difficulty moving.
Doctor Tran Hai Ha - Director of Thanh Mien District Medical Center assessed that Dr. Tran Minh Vuong is a young doctor with solid expertise, enthusiasm for his work and always completes the assigned tasks excellently.Doctor Vuong always proactively proposes to advise leaders in professional work, actively participating in unit activities.
During his work, Dr. Tran Minh Vuong was commended by the Hai Duong Department of Health, the Ho Chi Minh City Health Sector Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for his contributions to the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27,55-27, February 27, 2025), Dr. Tran Minh Vuong was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee for his many contributions to health work.
