On June 1st, Thanh Loc Commune Police said that the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police had temporarily detained Vo Trieu Duong (born in 2007, residing in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province) to investigate the act of "Theft of property".
Previously, at about 9:15 am on May 27, 2026, Thanh Loc Commune Police received a report from people about the theft of a motorbike while parked in an empty house foundation on rural road Kinh 18, belonging to group 9, Hoa Tho hamlet, Thanh Loc commune to go to work in the fields.
Immediately after receiving the report, the commune police leadership directed forces to urgently verify and investigate. At about 10:20 am on the same day, the police force identified and arrested subject Vo Trieu Duong, and at the same time recovered exhibits and related vehicles.
According to initial investigation results, due to lack of means of transportation, Duong had the intention to steal property. On the morning of May 27, Duong prepared a homemade metal shortener and asked an acquaintance to take him to find loose property to steal.
When arriving at Kinh 18 area, Hoa Tho hamlet, discovering many motorbikes parked by the rice field without guards, Duong took advantage of loopholes to steal 1 motorbike. After committing the theft, Duong drove the stolen motorbike towards Tan Loi hamlet, Chau Thanh commune when he was discovered and arrested by the Thanh Loc Commune Police force.
Currently, Thanh Loc Commune Police are continuing to investigate and consolidate the file for handling according to the provisions of law.
