On May 15, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police (Drug Crime Investigation Department) said that it had temporarily detained Pham Minh Phu (born in 1992, permanently residing in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province) for investigation into the act of "Illegally possessing narcotics".
Previously, on May 11, 2026, on Cao Lo street, Rach Gia ward, An Giang province, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of the Provincial Police discovered Pham Minh Phu driving a motorbike with many suspicious signs, so they stopped the vehicle for inspection. Through inspection, the Police force discovered a paper box containing a nylon bag containing white crystal particles, suspected to be drugs.
Working with the police agency, Phu confessed that the above crystals were methamphetamine bought for personal use.
Continuing the investigation, functional forces conducted an emergency search of the suspect's residence, thereby seizing an additional 120 grams of drugs; 1 bag of liquid drugs; 3 tablets suspected to be ecstasy drugs and many related exhibits.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police continues to investigate, expand and strictly handle according to the provisions of law.
