On May 15, at Drug Rehabilitation Center No. 2, An Giang province, a Conference was held to implement Decision No. 08/2026/QD-TTg dated March 3, 2026 of the Prime Minister on credit for people after drug rehabilitation. This is a policy of profound humanitarian significance, showing the concern of the Party and State in supporting people after drug rehabilitation to stabilize their lives, reintegrate into the community, prevent relapse and the occurrence of crimes.
At the Conference, delegates and more than 100 drug addicts were thoroughly informed of the key contents of Decision No. 08/2026/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on credit policies for people after drug detoxification. Accordingly, people after detoxification who need vocational training, job search, and production and business will have access to preferential loans to develop the economy, create stable livelihoods, and gradually rise up in life.

Speaking at the Conference, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Buol, Deputy Head of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police emphasized that drug detoxification and post-detoxification management work is not only about helping addicts quit drugs, but more importantly, creating conditions for them to have the opportunity to rebuild their lives, stabilize their lives, and stay away from social evils.
The effective implementation of preferential credit policies will contribute to removing difficulties in employment and economy for people after detoxification, thereby limiting the risk of relapse and ensuring security and order in the locality.
Representatives of the An Giang Provincial Bank for Social Policies also provided specific information about borrowers, conditions, procedures, loan amounts and loan terms according to regulations; and affirmed that they will closely coordinate with the Police force, local authorities and detoxification facilities to promptly support and guide post-detoxification people to access capital sources conveniently and in accordance with regulations.
The implementation of Decision No. 08 is expected to open up more opportunities for people after drug detoxification to have conditions to work, produce, and stabilize their lives; thereby contributing to the effective implementation of drug prevention and control, ensuring security and order in An Giang province.
The conference not only contributed to raising awareness of relevant units in the policy implementation process, but also demonstrated the determination of all levels and sectors in joining hands to help people after drug detoxification reintegrate into the community and become useful citizens for society.
