On February 21, the commander of the Nha Trang beach rescue team said that in the morning of the same day, rescue forces discovered two tourists struggling in the sea area with waves 2–3m high.
Recognizing the life-threatening situation, members of the rescue team quickly approached, deployed rescue plans and brought the victim ashore safely.
After receiving initial first aid on the spot, the two tourists were transferred to the nearest medical facility for health checks. Currently, their health condition is stable.
Previously, on February 20 (4th day of Tet), the rescue team successfully rescued 10 people, including tourists and local people, who were swept away by large waves while swimming in the sea. All cases were brought ashore in time, no casualties were recorded.
According to representatives of the Nha Trang beach rescue team (under the Nha Trang Bay Management Board), in the past 3 days, the weather at sea has been unusual, waves are continuously 2-3m high, and the sea is rough.
Functional forces have planted dangerous warning signs, hung flags prohibiting swimming, deployed 100% of personnel and directly reminded people and tourists not to go to sea when the waves are big. However, there are still many cases of subjectivity, disregarding warnings, posing a risk of drowning.
Rescue forces recommend that people and tourists strictly comply with warning signs, absolutely do not swim in the sea when waves are high and windy to avoid unfortunate accidents.
