On March 11, Can Tho City Police said that the unit had just organized an extraordinary award ceremony of the Ministry of Public Security for the collective of Tan An Ward Police for their outstanding achievements in crime prevention and control in the area.
According to Can Tho City Police, after merging the area, the management scale of Tan An ward is increasingly wide, the population is large, especially the number of immigrants from many other localities coming to live and work; along with that are foreigners coming to study and work, causing the security and order situation in the area to potentially have many complex factors.
In which, property theft crimes are increasingly complicated, affecting the daily life of the people. Faced with that situation, Tan An Ward Police proactively grasped the local situation, synchronously deployed professional measures, strengthened patrols and controls, promoted the movement of all people protecting national security, thereby promptly detecting and fighting against all types of crimes.
After receiving a report from people about motorbike theft at a motel in the ward, officers and soldiers of Tan An Ward Police urgently deployed measures to review and verify suspected subjects.
Through initial investigation, the police force discovered that the group of subjects showed signs of committing acts of property theft and consuming property obtained from others' crimes. The process of verification and expansion of investigation showed that the subjects operated in many areas, showing signs of inter-provincial involvement, with the participation of many subjects, making the case complicated.
Recognizing the seriousness of the case, Tan An Ward Police reported to the Head of the Investigation Police Agency to ask for instructions. On that basis, the Head of the Investigation Police Agency directed the Ward Police to focus forces on fighting and clarifying the case. Through the investigation process, the Police force arrested and prosecuted 7 subjects, recovered 34 stolen motorbikes and many other related exhibits and assets.
Recognizing this outstanding achievement, the Minister of Public Security decided to award unexpected rewards to the collective of Tan An Ward Police and 5 individuals to praise the proactive and resolute spirit of attacking and suppressing crime of officers and soldiers of the unit.
Speaking to direct at the ceremony, Colonel Bui Duc An - Deputy Director, Head of the Investigation Police Agency of Can Tho City Police emphasized that the results and achievements have clearly shown the spirit of responsibility, solidarity, efforts to overcome difficulties and proactiveness in assigning and organizing the implementation of tasks of the collective of officers and soldiers of the unit in the context that the task of ensuring security and order is increasingly posing many new requirements.
The Deputy Director of the City Police clearly stated that Tan An Ward Police are one of the bright spots of the grassroots-level Police force because they have had outstanding achievements in crime prevention and control in the past time, which is practical experience for other units to learn and follow.
