Vo Nguyen Giap route is the main road leading to Mui Ne, about 17km long, passing through 4 communes and wards of Phan Thiet city.
According to records, in many locations, cows are grazing on the roadside, some cows climb onto the flower-planted median strip in the middle of the road to destroy the grass, and sometimes the cows even lie in the middle of the road.

Most recently, at noon on January 4 at km13 in Mui Ne ward, Phan Thiet city, a herd of free-range cows crossed the road and was hit by a tourist car with license plate 51A - 853.XX traveling from Mui Ne to the center of Phan Thiet city.
The collision caused two cows to fall onto the road. The front of the car was deformed and damaged.

According to people at the scene, there have been many incidents of loose cows causing accidents for tourists traveling on this route.
When an accident occurs, many cattle owners often do not dare to come and claim their cattle for fear of being held responsible for damages to the vehicle owner. This is because the law strictly prohibits cattle owners from letting their cattle roam freely on the road.

Not only do free-range cows cause accidents on tourist routes, but many accidents have also occurred on inter-village and inter-commune roads, including fatal accidents.

For tourists who encounter accidents caused by roaming cows that damage their vehicles, the trip is not fun at all.
Some people sadly went down to take pictures of the scene to claim insurance.
Local people also hope that the local government will have a thorough solution to the problem of free-range cows so as not to affect the traffic safety of people and tourists.
