The meeting shared the theme: "Stratetical thinking, disciplined culture and aspiration to go out to the world: An opening for CMC's breakthrough journey".
At the meeting, the message was emphasized many times that Vietnamese enterprises that want to create sustainable competitive advantages must focus on products.
According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, many domestic units have invested heavily in research but have "stopped in the middle of the road" because they cannot put technology into commercial products:
- New products are what bring value, helping businesses compete.
- The rate of converting research results into products in Vietnam is still low; this is a big bottleneck.
- To get to the end, businesses must grasp the entire chain: design - integrate - produce - market - after-sales services.
In the discussion about AI and CMC's C- OpenAI ecosystem, the Minister suggested that businesses should not follow "perfect for everything" platforms, but should choose specific segments and problems where CMC can make a clear difference. Speaking less about technology, talking more about products. In the end, the market and customers only pay for the product, he emphasized.
AI or semiconductors: the important thing is to dare to choose and do it to the end
Regarding the question of CMC should choose AI or semiconductors to create a breakthrough, the Minister said that the question of "why choose" is not as important as "whether you dare to do it to the end or not".
He analyzed that for businesses at the threshold of scale such as CMC, AI is a natural choice if they have a clear data, product and market strategy.
Semiconductors are a broad field, not necessarily starting from billion-dollar projects; businesses can choose suitable segments such as design, IP, testing, IoT chips... as long as there is enough determination and resources to go long-term.
A real decision is not equal to a decision that is made to the end. The important thing is to choose and go to the end, not halfway," he said.
