On January 2, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City held a press conference to inform about the At Ty Spring Flower Market event and the Tay Do Tet program in 2025.
Accordingly, the Spring Flower Market of At Ty year 2025 will take place from January 17 to 28 (December 18 to 29 of the lunar calendar), at Tay Do Square, Mai Chi Tho Street, Urban Area 586, Phu Thu Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City.
The Spring Flower Market has over 200 lots displaying ornamental flowers, ornamental plants, and bonsai from small traders, gardeners, and cooperatives in Can Tho City and several provinces in the Mekong Delta.
Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City - said that the Spring Flower Market is arranged in a space of "on the wharf, under the boat", the functional sector has prepared the ground to facilitate both the road (Nam Song Hau road) and the waterway (along Hau river) to make it convenient for people to transport and trade Tet flowers.
In particular, farmers and traders inside and outside Can Tho City who want to do business at the 2025 Spring Flower Market will be exempted from rent, electricity and water.
The Spring Flower Market is organized to facilitate connections between traders, gardeners, flower and ornamental plant producers, OCOP entities of Can Tho City and some provinces in the Mekong Delta to have the opportunity to connect, trade, exchange and exchange goods. Support gardeners in the city to do business, buy and sell flowers and ornamental plants, serving the needs of entertainment, recreation and shopping during Tet of people in the city as well as domestic and foreign tourists.
Also at the press conference, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City announced the Tay Do Tet program with the theme "Vietnamese Tet Flow", with more than 100 booths introducing specialties of the Western region and introducing the typical Tet culture of the 3 regions of the North - Central - South, with the participation of about 30 localities across the country.
The Tay Do Tet program will be held at Tay Do Square from January 17 to 23 (December 18 to 24 of the lunar calendar). This is the first time the program has been held in Can Tho and will be held annually.
Previously, the 2024 Lunar New Year was the first year that the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade of Vinh Long, Dong Thap and Ben Tre provinces to organize the Spring Flower Market and exempted rent, electricity and water, creating the most favorable conditions for gardeners and businesses in the Mekong Delta to have a place to sell Tet ornamental flowers.
