At noon on June 14, a fire occurred at a aquaculture raft south of Tri Nguyen Island, located in Nha Trang Bay, causing many people and tourists on the Nha Trang beach to pay attention when a column of black smoke rose high, which could be observed from a distance.
According to initial information, the fire occurred at about 1 pm on the same day. At this time, people and tourists suddenly discovered thick black smoke rising from the area of aquaculture rafts in Nha Trang Bay.
Regarding the incident, a representative of the Nha Trang Bay Management Board said that the fire point was located at a watchtower on a seafood farming raft owned by Ms. H.'s family.
Immediately after discovering the fire, local forces and surrounding people urgently deployed firefighting measures, and at the same time isolated the fire area to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby aquaculture rafts.
After many minutes of effort, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished.
According to a representative of the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, the fire did not cause any casualties. However, some assets and items inside the watchtower were damaged by the fire.
The initial cause was determined to possibly stem from an electrical short circuit on the aquaculture raft.
Functional agencies are continuing to verify the cause, and at the same time statistically assess the damage to handle according to regulations.
