Prosecuting many subjects
Quang Tri Provincial Police have just prosecuted 2 criminal cases related to public order. In particular, the prosecuted subjects, most of whom are teenagers.
This incident has raised a warning bell about traffic violations of the young generation, when groups of young people organize speeding, swerving, causing insecurity and disorder.
On the night of January 22, L.D.T, a 17-year-old young man, set up a "storming" group on social networks to invite more friends to gather and drive cars at high speed. This group of 17 people moved on Vo Nguyen Giap street (Dong Hoi ward) in a state of swerving and swerving at a speed of 80km/h.
This act led to a serious accident when 2 motorbikes of the group collided with each other. Among them, 3 young men fell to the road and died on the spot, while 2 others were seriously injured and had to be hospitalized.
Quang Tri Provincial Police quickly intervened, using professional measures to verify and clarify the case. By January 26, 13 subjects had been summoned, including 4 people prosecuted. These subjects are mainly aged 14 to 19 and have admitted their illegal acts.
Also during this time, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Tri Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the criminal cases "Disturbing public order" and "Illegal use of military weapons" occurring in Cam Lo commune; and prosecuted 9 defendants out of a total of 22 related subjects.
Finding long-term solutions
Faced with the increasing number of traffic violations among young people, Quang Tri Provincial Police have implemented strong solutions to prevent this situation. Measures include strengthening patrols and controls during peak hours, especially at night when groups of young people often gather and drive at high speeds.
In addition, functional forces also emphasize the importance of propagating and educating traffic participation awareness for teenagers.
Propaganda sessions at schools, communities and in the media to raise awareness of the harmful effects of traffic violations, and at the same time propose strict forms of handling for violators.
Quang Tri Provincial Police said that in addition to the measures of functional forces, education from families and schools plays an important role in reducing traffic violations of teenagers.
Families need to increase their responsibility in supervising and guiding their children to participate in traffic safely, while schools also need to continue to promote moral and life skills education for students.
Community activities such as organizing competitions, traffic safety emulation programs, or extracurricular activities also need to be emphasized. Building a traffic safety society cannot only rely on the intervention of functional forces but needs the coordination of all parties in the community.
Quang Tri Provincial Police have pointed out that organizing activities such as "Going in the storm" not only violates traffic laws but also poses many unsafe risks, threatening the lives of participants and those around them.
