Gia Lai - Provincial Police recommend that people not provide personal information, not transfer money or send OTP codes to anyone via phone.

On March 14, before the time of the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, some methods and tricks of crimes taking advantage of election events to defraud and steal property appeared in Gia Lai.

Gia Lai Provincial Police recommends that people raise their vigilance and avoid becoming victims of bad elements.

According to the Police agency, one of the common tricks is impersonating ward officials, local police or members of the election team to call and text to request people to "update voter information".

Subjects often request to provide personal information such as citizen identification number, phone number, address to "compare voter lists".

They even require people to download strange applications, impersonating software of state agencies to steal bank data.

The target of the subjects is to appropriate money in the account or use personal information for illegal purposes.

In addition, functional agencies also warned about theft and pickpocketing in crowded areas such as voter listing locations, election campaign locations or people's meetings.

In addition, they also take advantage of the time when many families participate in voter meetings and neighborhood activities in the evening to break into people's houses to steal property.

To prevent this, the Provincial Police recommends that people do not provide personal information, do not transfer money or send OTP codes to anyone via phone.

Functional forces and the election team, when working with people, all do it directly or through official invitations.

At the same time, people need to pay attention to protecting personal property when going to public places, lock doors carefully before leaving home to participate in community activities, contributing to ensuring security and safety during the election.
