On December 22, Vinh Long Provincial Police said that Quoi Thien Commune Police are consolidating records to handle a group of young men who stole many local cats.
Previously, in the early morning of December 16, on the patrol road, Quoi Thien Commune Police received a report from local residents that a number of suspicious subjects were traveling on 2 motorbikes traveling on the roads in Quoi Thien Commune, so the Commune Police conducted an inspection.
The subjects gave their names: Tran Thi Thu T (born in 2009, HKTT Hamlet 8), Huynh Hong P (born in 1992), Doan Quoc H (born in 2009) with HKTT Hamlet 3, Cang Long Commune), Le Thai Dang K (born in 2008, HKTT Hamlet An Phu, Ngai Tu Commune) on 2 motorbikes with license plates 67B2-467.48 and 66CA-066.89.
At the time of inspection, the two motorbikes of the subjects were found to have 55 cat traps, 4 handbags, 6 fishing bags and 15 cats (total weight of 45kg).
Through initial investigation, the subjects admitted to using cat traps to steal cats in the households in the commune, and the cats were stolen and sold by the subjects at cat purchasing sites in Cang Long commune.
Currently, the Quoi Thien Commune Police continue to verify, consolidate the case file and handle it according to regulations.
