According to the Department of Transport of Da Nang City, recently, there have been a number of individuals impersonating officers of the Vietnam Register, the Department of Transport, leaders or staff of the Registration Center calling vehicle owners.
These subjects often notify that the car's inspection has expired and needs to be renewed, the Vietnam Register changes the inspection stamp and Inspection Certificate, and requests that the vehicle owner update the new stamp and Inspection Certificate, and that the information the vehicle owner previously declared at the Inspection Center is incorrect, and that personal information needs to be provided to update the profile without having to go to the Inspection Center.
The subjects then asked the vehicle owners to pay an amount of VND 10,000 - 23,000 to automatically renew, change the stamp and the new Technical Safety and Environmental Protection Certificate. Because the amount of money required to be transferred was small, many vehicle owners were caught off guard. Taking advantage of this, the scammers provided fake links or QR codes, asking the vehicle owners to declare personal information to renew the registration or change the old stamp and technical safety and environmental protection certificate. When accessing this link or QR code, the vehicle owner is at high risk of having their money and personal information stolen.
Therefore, the Department of Transport of Da Nang City informed that currently, there are no more vehicles that are eligible for automatic extension of inspection period. Currently, all administrative procedures and vehicle inspections are carried out at the Inspection Centers. All collections of service prices, fees, and charges must have valid invoices and documents according to regulations.
