At the conference to review the work in the first 6 months of 2025 and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year of the Da Nang City Police Department on July 22, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Nguyen - Deputy Director of the City Police acknowledged and praised the unit's efforts, and at the same time requested the force to continue to promote proactive spirit, focus on effectively advising the Party committees and authorities on fire prevention measures in the new situation.
In particular, it is necessary to urgently advise the leaders of CATP to coordinate with the Department of Construction and related sectors to review and complete the process of appraisal, acceptance, and inspection of fire safety according to the new regulations effective from July 1, 2025.
Along with that, closely coordinate with the Department of Education, the Fatherland Front, the Labor Federation and the City Youth Union to promote the dissemination of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Law, especially the new regulations in the Decrees and Circulars that have just been issued.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Nguyen emphasized that with a large area (more than 11,860km2), Da Nang needs to soon add Fire Fighting and Rescue Teams in the area, ensuring reasonable service radius and quick response capability. In the immediate future, it is necessary to advise the Director of CATP to propose the Ministry of Public Security to approve the establishment of a Fire Fighting and Rescue Team in the old Quang Nam area to avoid leaving the area vacant.
Since the beginning of the year, the whole city has recorded 61 fires (a decrease of 54 cases compared to the same period in 2024), including 60 cases in civil areas, 1 production forest fire, no human casualties; estimated property damage of 2.5 billion VND, fire of about 0.5 hectares of forest. The force has organized 57 fire fighting cases, mobilized 173 vehicles and 1,062 officers and soldiers; successfully handled the remaining 4 cases.
Regarding rescue, the unit has handled 54 cases, directly rescued 20 people, and found 22 bodies (including 8 cases in coordination with local people and authorities).
In the propaganda work, there have been nearly 216 news and posts published in newspapers, radio and social networks; organized 774 direct propaganda sessions with more than 72,000 participants; more than 4,400 students and people participated in the experience and practice of fire fighting and rescue.
The models of "PCCC Safety Inter- families Group", "P public fire fighting point" continue to be replicated with 922 groups, 3,328 public fire fighting points and 696 initial fire fighting points. In addition, 127 training courses on fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue knowledge were organized, attracting 11,719 students to participate.
