On March 26, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that in recent years, the locality has conducted inspections, checks and handled violations of mineral laws.
From 2020 to present, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (now the Department of Agriculture and Environment) has conducted 6 inspections and examinations of 39 mineral exploitation units.
The unit also coordinated with the General Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam to inspect 22 units in the province.
Based on the inspection results, the Department has advised the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue 25 decisions on administrative sanctions with a total amount of more than 1.4 billion VND. Of which, the mineral sector accounts for nearly 1.2 billion VND.
At the request of the State Audit, the Provincial Tax Department, the Provincial Police and the General Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam, the Department has sanctioned and advised the issuance of 14 more administrative sanctions against 14 units, with a total amount of 3.9 billion VND.
