Informing Lao Dong Newspaper, people in Thanh Thinh Commune, Cho Moi District (Bac Kan) reported that for many years, the area has been experiencing mineral gathering, lying outdoors, and being roughly covered, causing loss of aesthetics.
On March 13, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that the mineral gathering site was reflected in the area of the 256 road axis intersecting with the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi Expressway.
The above staging area does not have surrounding fences or environmental protection measures but is covered with large tarpaulins. Many plates are rotten and torn, revealing under the layer of strange white minerals.
A part of the material has spilled into the soil area below but has not been collected, lying around in small piles.

People in Thanh Thinh commune said that this mineral gathering site has existed for many years but no one knows clearly the composition or purpose of use.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lanh, piles of minerals are not carefully covered. Although no dust is generated, after each rain, water from the spillway flows down to the area below, seeping into the soil, posing a potential risk of affecting the environment.
"I don't know what this substance is, whether it affects water resources or land, but if we keep it like this for a long time, no one will be assured," Ms. Lanh added.
Sharing the same concern, Mr. Hoang Van Thang (Cho Moi) said that this mineral deposit is located near a major road, and has existed for many years, but has never seen any unit come to clean up or cover it.
"The original tarpaulin layer is now rotten, torn, and many places have overflowing minerals but have not been collected. If there is a risk of pollution, there needs to be a final solution soon, to keep it like this, then the people can only worry and worry" said Mr. Thang.
People hope that the authorities will soon check and clarify the impact of this mineral, avoiding prolonged situation that will cause more anxiety and insecurity.
On March 19, speaking with reporters, Mr. Ly Van Que - Chairman of Thanh Thinh Commune People's Committee said that the material in the above landfill area is anhydrous stone powder, the gathering point is in the planned land area of the industrial cluster.
"The locality and the authorities of Cho Moi district have come down to inspect this area. After verification, no dangerous substances were detected here," the commune leader added.
However, gathering anhydrous rock powder without covering can still lead to dust spread, affecting the surrounding environment. Therefore, appropriate measures are needed to control and minimize the impact.
