On March 28, Binh Chau Border Guard Station (Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard) said that it had coordinated with forces to support fishermen to extinguish a sudden fire that occurred on a fishing boat anchored.
According to initial information, at about 1:15 am on March 28, Binh Chau Border Guard Station received a report about a fire on a fishing boat anchored at Ben Loi - Binh Chau storm shelter, Binh Chau commune (HCMC).
At this time, fishing boat number BV-95086. TS, owned by Mr. N.V.T (born in 1977, residing in Binh Chau commune), suddenly caught fire for unknown reasons, and there were no crew members on board. Immediately after receiving the news, Binh Chau Border Guard Station sent 15 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the Fishing Port Management Board, relevant forces and fishermen to quickly deploy firefighting, control the fire, and prevent it from spreading to nearby vehicles.
By about 3 am on the same day, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished. Functional forces brought this fishing boat into port to verify the cause of the fire and repair it. Although there were no casualties, the fire caused damage to the cabin and fishing gear on the boat, estimated at about 450 million VND.
Currently, Binh Chau Border Guard Station is coordinating with functional agencies to verify and clarify the cause of the fire; guiding vehicle owners to implement other procedures according to regulations.
