On March 28, Long Xuyen Ward Police, An Giang province chaired and coordinated with professional departments of the Provincial Police and Vietnam Bank for Investment and Development - An Giang Branch - Long Xuyen Transaction Office to organize a drill to handle situations of preventing robbery at banks in Long Xuyen ward.

Attending the drill were Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quang - Vice Chairman of Long Xuyen Ward People's Committee; representatives of leaders of a number of professional departments of the Provincial Police; professional departments and divisions under the Party Committee and People's Committee of Long Xuyen Ward; leaders of credit institutions and gold, silver, and gemstone business establishments in the ward.
This is considered a practical activity to proactively prevent and improve the capacity to handle complex situations related to property infringement crimes, especially property robbery crimes at banks and credit institutions.
Simulated situation, at about 9 am on March 28, 2026, at Vietnam Bank for Investment and Development - An Giang Branch - Long Xuyen Transaction Office, there were 2 subjects wearing masks, riding motorbikes to park their vehicles in front of the bank headquarters, pretending to inquire about the bank security to guide them on how to make a credit card.

Taking advantage of the security guard's lack of vigilance, the subject used a knife to control the security guard as a hostage and went into the transaction counter area, threatened and then robbed money.
Immediately after receiving the news from the emergency alarm system, the leaders of the Ward Police reported to the Board of Directors and professional departments of the Provincial Police, and at the same time assigned forces to quickly approach the scene to coordinate with the 113 Police force to organize blockade, traffic diversion, and ensure safety for people in the surrounding area.

After controlling security guards and threatening people who were transacting and bank employees, the subjects took money and ran out to find a way to escape. By professional measures, the Ward Police force quickly controlled and successfully arrested the two subjects.
Speaking at the drill, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chinh - Head of Long Xuyen Ward Police - emphasized: "Through the drill, it aims to equip more knowledge, help banking staff and businesses trading in gold, silver, and gemstones in the ward to master how to handle security and order situations, raise vigilance against the methods and tricks of all kinds of criminals; strengthen information exchange, improve coordination between bank security and the police force in resolving arising situations.

To coordinate well in ensuring security and order for banks and gold businesses in the coming time, the Ward Police Chief requested businesses to continue and promptly exchange information and related situations on security and order with the police force; strengthen the installation, arrangement, and use of technical equipment for crime prevention and control; smart security surveillance camera systems to detect suspicious subjects to have timely handling measures.
