On April 26, Binh Thuan Provincial Police announced that the online trial of the first instance of the three defendants Le Thanh Trung, Duong Thanh Tuan, and Dang Van Nhat in the case of exchanging a fence for drugs for the same use had sentenced all three defendants to a total of 16 years in prison.

According to the indictment, in August 2024, Dang Van Nhat (born in 1995) called Le Thanh Trung (born in 1994) and Duong Thanh Tuan 8:00, both living in Ham Thuan Bac district) to ask to buy 4 fence pillars to build a cow's cage. During the discussion, the subjects agreed that instead of taking money, Tuan and Trung would exchange the money from selling the money into drugs for Nhat to use. Trung then brought 4 barrier posts to Nhat's house and exchanged them for 4 packages of crystal meth. Holding this amount of crystal meth, Trung organized and used it with Tuan and was discovered and caught red-handed by the commune police.
The trial panel sentenced Le Thanh Trung and Duong Thanh Tuan to 7 years in prison each for the crime of "Organizing illegal use of drugs", sentenced Dang Van Nhat to 2 years in prison for the crime of "Illegal trading of drugs".
