On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on June 14, Binh Phuoc province officially launched a series of activities in response to the "Red Blood Drops - Summer" Campaign and the 13th "Red Journey" Program in 2025 - one of the largest voluntary blood donation campaigns in the country.
Participating in the Red Journey for the first time, Binh Phuoc set a goal of mobilizing and receiving 5,420 units of blood in 2025. At the same time, the province will mobilize at least 5,000 Red Cross volunteers to participate in humanitarian activities, build a reserve blood donation force and people with rare blood groups to be ready to support when urgently requested by medical facilities.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung - Member of the Central Standing Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Deputy Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, expressed his confidence: "With the spirit of volunteers' volunteerism and the kindness of Binh Phuoc people, I believe that this year's Red Journey in our province will be a great success, reaching and far exceeding the set targets".
Implemented since 2013, the Red Journey has become a symbol of the voluntary blood donation movement in Vietnam, contributing significantly to overcoming anemia in treatment at hospitals. Over 12 years, the campaign has organized more than 3,000 blood donation points, receiving nearly 940,000 units of blood. In 2024 alone, the Red Journey set a record with 128,119 units of blood received at 341 blood donation points nationwide.
Binh Phuoc's official participation in this meaningful journey is an important step forward, demonstrating the community responsibility and spirit of sharing of local people. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the province to spread human values, inspire action in the community, and join hands with the whole country to care for and protect people's health.
