Previously, fishing vessel QNg-90251. TS captained by Mr. N.D. T (born in 1977, Quang Ngai province), departed on March 3 at Son Can port, carrying 36 crew members engaged in squid fishing at sea. During fishing, at about 2 pm on April 4, the fishing vessel suddenly broke down, losing maneuverability in the Southwest area of An Bang island, Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province. Although the crew members on board had organized repairs but were unsuccessful, the captain sent an emergency signal.
Receiving the dispatch order, vessel KN475 urgently maneuvered to the area where the fishing vessel encountered an incident at sea. At about 0:30 am on April 5, vessel KN475 approached the fishing vessel encountering an incident and deployed a support working group. Initial inspections showed that the health of the crew members was stable; and the fishing vessel had damaged the high-pressure oil pump control gear, which could not be repaired on the spot.
Therefore, vessel KN475 towed fishing vessel QNg-90251. TS to Da Tay A island, Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province to continue handling. At about 6:30 pm on April 5, fishing vessel QNg-90251. TS and 36 crew members safely entered the island.
