In the afternoon of March 29, in Trung Tam ward (Lao Cai province), a large thunderstorm with heavy rain and strong gusts of wind occurred, causing many green trees on Provincial Road 174 to be uprooted and fallen across the road surface.

The incident caused traffic on the route to be paralyzed for a long time, and vehicles could not pass through the area. Some points were completely blocked by fallen trees, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Central Ward Police quickly mobilized forces, coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Police Team of Area 2 and Road Traffic Police Team No. 4 to be present at the scene and deploy handling plans.
At the scene, the forces proceeded to divert traffic, regulate traffic, warn people of danger; and at the same time used specialized vehicles to saw, cut, move fallen trees, and clear the scene to soon restore traffic.

In the context of complicated weather conditions and prolonged heavy rain, functional forces had to work continuously and urgently to overcome the incident, minimizing the impact on people's travel.
By the evening of the same day, basic handling work was deployed, but some locations continued to be cleaned up to ensure absolute safety for vehicles in traffic.

Faced with extreme weather conditions, the Central Ward Police recommends that people raise their vigilance, limit moving through areas with many green trees and positive slopes when heavy rain and strong winds occur; and at the same time comply with the instructions of functional forces to ensure safety.
Proactive and timely handling of incidents has contributed to minimizing damage and quickly stabilizing the traffic situation on Provincial Road 174.
