From April 18 to the end of April 19, units managing and maintaining the transport infrastructure system in Hanoi will simultaneously deploy general cleaning to ensure traffic safety and urban aesthetics during the peak holiday.
Specifically, general cleaning activities are applied to many items such as: road systems, traffic lights, level crossings intersecting railways, inland waterways, and bridge and road tunnel works throughout the city.
According to Mr. Dam Quang Bao - Director of the Hanoi Infrastructure Maintenance Board, during the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday and the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the traffic volume traveling from Hanoi to provinces and cities and vice versa is forecast to increase sharply.
Faced with that situation, the Maintenance Board has developed a general cleaning plan for the traffic infrastructure system to proactively ensure traffic order and safety and improve the quality of urban landscape.
According to the plan, from 8 am on April 18 to the end of April 19, units will deploy:
General cleaning of bridges and road tunnels throughout the city. Inspecting, detecting and promptly handling incidents on assigned roads. Dismantling banners and advertisements that do not comply with regulations. Coordinating to ensure security and order, environmental sanitation at tunnels and pedestrian overpasses.
The units also coordinate with the People's Committees of wards and communes in protecting road traffic safety corridors, promptly preventing and handling illegal encroachment acts.
