On October 23, in Ca Mau province, Squadron 42 (Coast Guard Region 4 Command) launched a fierce peak emulation period, determined to prevent and end the situation of fishing vessels violating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Minh Hien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Squadron, Chairman of the Emulation and Reward Council emphasized: This peak emulation period aims to raise awareness, sense of responsibility and specific actions of each officer and soldier, determined to prevent and end the situation of fishing vessels violating IUU fishing; contributing to the authorities and fishermen nationwide to join hands to remove the European Commission's yellow card for Vietnam's seafood industry.
The emulation period will take place from October 15 to November 15, 2025. The fleet focuses on key contents such as: strictly maintaining the on-duty system at all levels; monitoring and supervising 100% of fishing vessels operating at sea via the VMS system; regularly updating information on fishing vessels and the journey monitoring system of vessels at sea, notifying and providing information to patrol vessels on the situation on the ground to take timely preventive measures. Strictly maintain the on-duty system on site, strengthen monitoring, management, and strictly hand over targets between shifts and on-duty ships.

Resolutely deploy plans and measures, concentrate forces and means to patrol and control areas where many Vietnamese fishing vessels operate near the border; effectively implement the content of exchanging and grasping information with agencies and functional forces. Determined to prevent and end the situation of Vietnamese fishing vessels violating IUU.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the agencies and units under the Squadron signed an emulation agreement, determined to excellently complete the set targets.
