On August 23 and 24, Colonel Tran Tuan Anh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Border Guard, Deputy Head of the Inspection Team and specialized agencies of the Border Guard made an inspection and working trip to the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command.
During this inspection, the working group of the Border Guard Command had a working session with the Provincial Border Guard Command, to grasp the situation of fishing of fishermen in some localities. Visit and encourage the spirit of fishermen, and at the same time, check documents, books, fishing logs, journey monitoring equipment... on ships with large capacity anchored at ports and operating at sea.
The working group also listened to the opinions and wishes of fishermen, ship owners and ship owners about the current difficulties and problems in seafood exploitation. People's recommendations and proposals, unclear issues in management, operation, as well as in managing cruise monitoring equipment; capital support to restore marine occupations, sustainable farming, and regenerate seafood resources in the future...

Working with the Tay Yen Border Guard Station Command (with a large number of fishing vessels entering and leaving the port every day), Colonel Tran Tuan Anh listened to the unit commander report on the organization of forces and means to coordinate in performing the task of inspection and supervision of fishing vessels entering and leaving the area. Difficulties and problems in participating in inspecting and monitoring fishing vessels through the journey monitoring system. Difficulties in fighting and handling ships are deliberately removed, damaged, sealed, and hired to carry journey monitoring equipment.
Colonel Tran Tuan Anh shared that these difficulties and problems are not only encountered by the Tay Yen station, but this is one of the common realities of the whole country. In fact, there have been many incidents of removing journey monitoring devices to go fishing illegally, and through monitoring, the ships are still operating in Vietnamese waters.
However, in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction on combating illegal fishing, it is necessary to discuss and find the best measures to remove the yellow card as soon as possible. Coordinate with sectors and levels to resolve the number of fishing vessels with "3 no", vessels that have not changed names, changed owners, and vessels that do not ensure procedures for going to sea according to regulations...
Concluding the inspection, Colonel Tran Tuan Anh highly appreciated the efforts of the collective of officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard Command in participating in preventing IUU fishing. He suggested that relevant agencies and units synchronously implement solutions in the coming time. Specifically, the content of the propaganda is close to each boat owner, fisherman, fisherman, captain, relatives... to change the awareness and behavior of the subjects.
