On December 21, at the Lao Bao border area (Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province), the "Lao Bao Border Market" opened. The market was held for the first time in the border area with 50 booths of small traders in Quang Tri province and border villages such as Phuong and Densavan (Se Pon district, Savanakhet province, Laos).
At the fair, there is also an area displaying typical products of the Van Kieu and Pa Co people in Huong Hoa district and Lao localities.
The market is held at the end of the year, the quantity of goods is quite abundant, so the number of visitors to the market is quite large.
At the opening ceremony of the fair, through the connection of the Quang Tri Province Flower Road Development Fund, the new Miss Nguyen Ngoc Thao Nguyen (from Huong Hoa district, crowned Miss at the Miss Vietnam Era 2024 Final held in Ninh Thuan on December 14, 2024) attended.
Here, Miss Thao Nguyen gave gifts to students and households in difficult circumstances, and at the same time contributed to introducing and promoting some agricultural products and brands of local people.
Attending the opening ceremony of the market, Mr. Ho Dai Nam - Head of the Propaganda Department of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee said that this was the first time the market was held but initially it attracted many people and tourists to the market. The items for sale were quite diverse with local products, contributing to promoting agricultural products and tourism.
It is known that the market will take place every Saturday.
