On June 22, at Battalion 207, Regiment BB893, the Military Command (CHQS) of An Giang province organized the opening ceremony of the 2026 Sports Festival.
Participating in the sports festival were 14 athlete delegations from agencies and units in the armed forces (AR) of An Giang province. More than 250 athletes competed in 5 events including: men's volleyball, healthy soldiers, VC16 obstacle course, armed 3,000m obstacle course and armed swimming.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Sports Festival emphasized that the sports festival is an opportunity to assess the actual results of training, physical training and sports movement of agencies and units; and at the same time select athletes with outstanding achievements to establish the provincial armed forces team to participate in the military region-level sports festival. The comrade requested the athlete delegations to strictly comply with the regulations and rules of the sports festival, compete with the spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, determination to achieve high results, and ensure absolute safety throughout the process of participating in the sports festival.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered and competed enthusiastically in the contents according to the plan. The sports festival is a practical activity contributing to improving the quality of training, building a disciplined physical training regime, strengthening the spirit of solidarity and exchange of learning between agencies and units, meeting the requirements of the task of building comprehensively strong provincial armed forces in the new situation.
