On the morning of June 26, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to organize a meeting to respond to World Environment Day 2026 with a message calling on the community to join hands to act for climate, protect the environment and towards sustainable development.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan assessed that this is a practical activity, demonstrating the responsibility of the Education sector in environmental protection, climate change response, marine resource conservation and biodiversity.
According to Deputy Minister Le Quan, the event is also an opportunity for agencies, units and the community to jointly affirm their determination to act for a green future and sustainable development.

In 2026, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) launched World Environment Day with the theme "A Global Call for Climate Action - Calling for global action for climate".
This topic is seen as a strong call to respond to the increasingly serious impacts of climate change globally.
According to Deputy Minister Le Quan, climate action, environmental protection, marine ecosystem conservation and sustainable development are closely related to each other.
Deputy Minister Le Quan said that with more than 23 million students and more than one million managers, teachers and workers, the Education sector has a great spillover effect in forming awareness, thinking and green living behavior for the young generation.
Mr. Tran Hoa Nam - Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that in 2026, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) issued a strong message "Calling on the global community to join hands in climate action".
According to Mr. Tran Hoa Nam, this is no longer a warning from the future but a requirement to act immediately in the present.
For Khanh Hoa, this message is even more meaningful as the locality is determined to implement the Project "Green Transformation, Green Growth" to build a sustainable development future.
The Ministry of Education and Training's choice of Nha Trang University as the venue for the rally is also of special significance.
This is a training and scientific research institution with strengths in the field of aquaculture and marine science in the Central region.
