On July 7, Mr. Nguyen Van, Vice Chairman of Dang Thuy Tram Commune People's Committee, said that the Commune People's Committee had just coordinated with the forest rangers, Commune Police, Ba To Forestry One Member Limited Liability Company and related units to release a pig-tailed macaque to the natural forest in the area.
The pig-tailed macaque individual has the scientific name Macaca leonina, weighing about 3.2kg. Previously, the animal strayed into a residential area, was discovered by people and proactively handed over to local authorities.
After receiving it, Dang Thuy Tram Commune People's Committee coordinated with the forest rangers to check the health status of the monkey individual. The inspection results showed that this individual was eligible to be released back into the natural environment.
The released area is selected to suit the living characteristics of the species, creating conditions for monkey individuals to quickly adapt, continue to grow and develop in the natural environment.
