On May 28, Lieutenant Colonel Phan Quoc Viet - Head of Ba Xa Commune Police said that the Commune Police had just coordinated with the Forest Protection Department of Region XIV and Ba Xa Commune People's Committee to release rare and precious wild animal individuals handed over by people to the natural environment.
Accordingly, on the morning of May 27, Ba Xa Commune Police received from 2 citizens in the area 1 individual sand turtle (scientific name Cuora mouhotii) and 1 individual king crab (scientific name Amyda ornata). These are endangered, precious, and rare wild animals belonging to group IIB.
In which, the sand turtle individual was handed over by Mr. Pham Van At (38 years old, residing in Mang Mu village, Ba Xa commune) after discovering the animal crawling on the inter-village concrete road. The king crab individual was handed over by Mr. Huynh Thanh Vu (47 years old) - Director of Ba Xa Commune Health Station after discovering the cow entering the Commune Health Station campus.
Immediately after receiving it, Ba Xa Commune Police coordinated with Forest Protection Department Region XIV and Ba Xa Commune People's Committee to check the health status of the individuals, and at the same time complete the procedures according to the provisions of law to release them back to the natural environment on the same day.
