On June 1, Kien Giang Provincial Police held a launching ceremony for the peak period of general inspection of vehicles with pumping, suction and transportation of sand and gravel in the whole province. The ceremony aims to seriously implement the direction of the Ministry of Public Security and the Traffic Police Department on combating and handling violations of the law in illegal mining, transportation and consumption of mineral resources.
Directing at the launching ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong - Deputy Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police - highly appreciated the proactive, serious and responsible spirit of the Traffic Police force in preparing and praising all officers and soldiers who were ready to deploy their tasks during the peak period.

This is a very important task, not only to control current violations but also a preparation step for the organization and rearrangement of forces in the context of merging administrative units, requiring participating forces to implement them seriously, in accordance with legal regulations, not to let errors happen, not to cause trouble to people and businesses, Colonel Nguyen Nhat Truong emphasized.
The Deputy Director of the Provincial Police also paid special attention to ensuring safety during the inspection process, especially on waterways - where there are many potential risks. The authorities need to coordinate closely, conduct inspections with focus and key points, and not leave violating vehicles unused.
Speaking of the launch, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Truong - Head of the Traffic Police Department requested officers and soldiers on duty to " strictly comply with the order, uphold the spirit of responsibility, strictly handle all violations, end all violations with the motto 'no forbidden areas, no exceptions'" and absolutely do not condone or assist illegal activities.
According to the plan, the peak period will be implemented from June 1 to July 31, 2025. Working groups will focus on controlling: Vehicles with pumping and pumping equipment; means of transporting sand and gravel of unknown origin, no invoices and documents; detecting and handling acts of converting vehicles, extending them into bins, violating limit values, exceeding the limit; vehicles that have expired, not registered, not inspected.
On that basis, the authorities will synchronously use forms of public and disguised patrols, combined with modern technical means, to conduct inspections on key routes such as: Rach Gia City bypass, Southern Coastal Corridor road and areas with mining activities, wharves such as Hon Dat, Kien Luong, Ha Tien, Giong Rieng, Phu Quoc...
In addition to controlling and handling violations, participating forces will step up propaganda and mobilization work to businesses and vehicle owners to proactively overcome, dismantle illegal equipment and return vehicles to their original state in accordance with technical regulations.
