On April 8, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that Mr. Le Trong Yen - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has signed a document requesting departments, branches and localities to rectify slaughtering control, tighten discipline and order in the performance of official duties.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant units and localities to strengthen inspection and supervision of slaughterhouses; promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of collecting, transporting, and consuming unqualified animal products.
Sectors and localities are required to resolutely and strictly handle organizations and individuals with acts of legalizing dossiers for slaughterhouses that do not ensure veterinary hygiene and food safety; not to let "hot spots" arise and prolong.

In addition, units must strictly implement quarantine at the source; maintain a 24/24 hour duty regime at key traffic quarantine stations; strengthen control at border gates, trails, and open paths in border areas for animal and animal product transportation activities.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned relevant departments and agencies to strengthen inspection and ensure food safety at markets, supermarkets, shopping centers, convenience stores and business establishments.

For the People's Committees of communes, wards and Phu Quy special zone, it is necessary to strictly manage the slaughtering and trading of livestock and poultry products; and at the same time promote propaganda to prevent people from using products of unknown origin and unsafe.
According to the Lam Dong Sub-Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine, the whole province currently has 125 livestock facilities certified for disease safety, including 106 onshore animal breeding facilities. The total livestock herd in the first quarter of 2026 is estimated at over 1.9 million heads, reaching 92.7% of the annual plan.
Previously, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 26/CD-TTg dated March 30, 2026, requesting ministries, branches, and localities to strengthen slaughtering control and ensure food safety.
According to the telegram, in the past time, a number of large-scale cases of collecting, transporting, slaughtering and consuming diseased pigs have been detected, distorting control results and bringing unsanitary products to the market.
This is a serious case, posing a risk of disease spread, affecting people's health and reducing the effectiveness of state management in the veterinary field.
