On April 14, the People's Committee of Chu A Thai commune, Gia Lai province said that the rain praying ceremony of Yang Pơtao Apui (Fire King) is expected to take place on April 25 at the Plei Oi National Historical and Cultural Relic (Chu A Thai commune).
The event is being actively prepared by the locality with the expectation of becoming a unique cultural and tourism highlight during the holidays.
The rain praying festival of Yang Pơtao Apui is associated with the legend of the Fire Kings having the power to call for rain and wind in the ancient Cheo Reo region, now Chu A Thai commune. This ceremony was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage (in 2015).
According to the plan, the main ceremony will take place in the morning with a rain praying ritual on the Chu Tao Yang mountain, a sacred and legendary mountain, considered the residence of the Fire Kings of the Plei Oi National Historical and Cultural Relic Site.

Along with that is a series of cultural activities such as gong performances, weaving, brocade weaving, statue carving... contributing to bringing authentic experiences to tourists.
The event is not only of spiritual significance but also aims to promote the image of the land and people of Chu A Thai, creating a premise for building unique tourism products associated with local cultural heritage.
