On December 17, the Department of Information and Communications of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province organized the program "Green Living Day" in 2024 with the theme "For green sea and islands", to promote environmental protection and sustainable development of sea and islands in Con Dao district.
This is the third time this activity has been organized on a large scale in the province, with the participation of many agencies, youth unions, students, people and tourists, bringing about many ripple effects.
Within the framework of the program, meaningful activities such as: Organizing garbage collection, cleaning the marine environment; organizing the donation of reusable cloth bags to replace plastic bags in daily life; organizing the "Green Gift Basket" contest; propagating policies and directives on limiting the use of disposable plastic products; visiting and learning about heritage trees, biodiversity protection, and natural resource conservation at the Con Dao National Park Management Board... were launched, attracting the participation of a large number of people and tourists present on the island district.
In recent times, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has been one of the bright spots attracting investment and tourists nationwide. However, in addition to developing industry, agriculture, tourism and services, the province always pays attention to environmental protection, consistently pursuing the development policy: "not trading the environment for the economy".
"Green Living Day" is a program implemented to affirm determination, change awareness, and unify actions to prevent pollution and environmental degradation, ensure ecological balance; replace disposable plastic products with environmentally friendly materials in daily life..., thereby contributing to environmental protection for the goal of sustainable development.
