On November 30, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that in 2024, child care, education and support will receive special attention from all levels, sectors, localities and the whole society.
During the year, the province mobilized cash, in-kind and technical assistance worth nearly 25 billion VND to support 21,154 children.
Of which, the Provincial Children's Support Fund has mobilized more than 9.38 billion VND, creating an important resource to support and care for children in difficult and extremely difficult circumstances.
The Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 activities were organized warmly and appropriately in the context of the whole country joining hands to share with children in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3.
On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, in Vinh City, the Vietnam Children's Fund and the Nghe An Provincial Children's Fund jointly organized the "Mid-Autumn Festival of Love" program for children in especially difficult circumstances.
At the program, the organizers presented more than 180 gifts to children with autism spectrum disorder and other disorders from the Nghe An Provincial Children's Fund, the Niem Tin Early Intervention Center for Special Children, students from the Provincial Vocational Education Center for the Disabled and SOS Children's Village Vinh, a specialized center in Nghe An province. The total cost of the gifts was more than 75 million VND.
Also on this occasion, the Provincial Children's Fund also presented more than 400 gifts worth more than 190 million VND to children in especially difficult circumstances throughout the province.

According to the leaders of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An province, during the year, the whole province focused on disseminating policies and laws on child protection, care and education, skills to prevent and minimize risks of harm to children, especially for parents, teachers and caregivers; effectively preventing child abuse and violence; diversifying means and content of communication on child work.
Pilot models for children in districts, cities and towns continue to be implemented; review and improve the natural and social environment, overcome and eliminate potential risk points for causing injuries, especially drowning, traffic, falling and places with many factors causing abuse and violence against children.
Organize training to improve capacity on child protection and care for provincial, district and commune departments, collaborators at block, hamlet and village levels.
Along with that, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs has chaired and coordinated with the People's Committees of Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh and Anh Son districts to continue organizing activities of the Project "Supporting the implementation of effective and sustainable interventions to prevent child drowning" in Nghe An province sponsored by the Campaign For Tobacco-Free Kids, USA.
Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long said: "In recent years, the work of children has received special attention from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, together with localities, organizations and units. In 2025 and the following years, the province will continue to promote the achieved results, determined to fulfill the task of caring for, educating and protecting children, the future generation of the country."
