On August 10, the People's Committee of Nghe An province coordinated with the Thai Embassy in Vietnam and the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association to organize the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2026).
Attending the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam; Senior Lieutenant General, GS.TS Nguyen Van Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association; representatives of the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association and departments, branches and businesses of the two sides.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Trong Hai said that Nghe An wishes to continue to expand cooperation with Thailand in the fields of industry, high-tech agriculture, energy, trade, tourism, culture and science - technology.
The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee also affirmed that the province will create a favorable and transparent investment environment, creating conditions for Thai businesses to explore opportunities and deploy investment and business activities in the area.
Senior Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association - assessed that after 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, relations between the two countries have achieved many results. The potential for cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand is still large, in which people-to-people exchanges play an important role in consolidating friendly relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Urawadee Sriphiromya - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam - said that Vietnam and Thailand still have much room for cooperation in trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
The Thai Ambassador expressed his desire to strengthen connectivity between localities of Thailand and provinces and cities of Vietnam, especially Nghe An.
Within the framework of the program, delegates visited the painting exhibition and participated in exchange activities. Senior Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh also presented the book "Vietnam - Thailand: 50 years of cooperation for joint development (1976-2026)".
The anniversary is an opportunity to look back at the 50-year journey of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, and at the same time create opportunities for Nghe An to cooperate with Thailand in many fields, strengthening connections between localities and businesses of the two sides.
