On June 26, Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police informed that recently, 4 people proactively contacted functional agencies to voluntarily hand over 4 rare and precious wild animal individuals to serve rescue work and release them back to the natural environment.
The individuals handed over by the people include: 1 birman kite individual, 1 Java pangolin individual, 1 golden mountain turtle individual and 1 black hawk individual.
After receiving them, functional forces coordinated with specialized units to conduct health checks, complete procedures according to regulations before bringing the individuals to rescue facilities for care, recovery and re-release to the natural environment when conditions are met.
According to Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police, the fact that people proactively hand over wild animals instead of keeping them in captivity, buying and selling or using them illegally is the result of propaganda and dissemination of laws that the unit regularly implements in residential groups, residential areas and business households in the area.
