On June 14, the People's Committee of Huong Hiep commune (Quang Tri province) confirmed that the area continuously received rare pangolins handed over by people.
At 5:00 PM on June 13, Huong Hiep Commune People's Committee coordinated with Huong Hiep Commune Police and Dakrong Forest Protection Department (Quang Tri province) to receive a pangolin individual voluntarily handed over by people.
Previously, on the way home from work, Mr. Ho Van Luan (born 1991, residing in Xa Vi village, Huong Hiep commune) suddenly discovered a pangolin on the roadside. Realizing that this is a dangerous, precious wild animal that needs to be strictly protected, Mr. Luan brought this animal home and proactively contacted the local authorities to hand it over.
Through inspection, this pangolin weighs about 1.2kg. Immediately after receiving it, functional forces completed the dossier and legal procedures and handed it over to Dakrong Forest Protection Department for continued care and monitoring of health before proceeding to release it back into the natural environment according to regulations.
On June 8, the Economic Department of Huong Hiep commune coordinated with Dakrong Forest Protection Department (Quang Tri province) to receive a pangolin weighing about 4kg voluntarily handed over by people. This pangolin was discovered by Mr. Bui Cong Hai (born 1987, residing in Nam Dong Ha ward, Quang Tri province) in a net bag left on the roadside at Km38, passing through Huong Hiep commune.
