On May 9, Phu An Commune Police (An Giang) said that they had verified, tracked down and returned property to people who had their motorbikes stolen in the area.
Previously, at about 3 am on May 6, 2026, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Yen (born in 1984, residing in Phu Quoi hamlet, Phu An commune) drove a motorbike to Phu Trung hamlet, Phu An commune, An Giang province to transplant rice. After parking the motorbike on the dike and using a iron chain to lock it carefully, Ms. Yen went down to the field to work. At about 10 am on the same day, when she returned to get the motorbike to go home, she discovered that the motorbike had been lost, and the chain lock had been cut off, so she went to Phu An Commune Police to report.
Immediately after receiving the report, Phu An Commune Police urgently investigated and mobilized people in the area to provide information related to the lost vehicle. At about 3 pm on May 7, 2026, the Police force received a report from people working in the fields in Phu My Ha hamlet about discovering a motorbike abandoned in the field.
Conducting inspection and verification, the commune police determined that this was Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Yen's motorbike that had been lost before, suspected of being left by the thief during his escape. After completing the necessary procedures, the police force proceeded to return the vehicle to Ms. Yen.
