On April 26th (March 10th of the lunar calendar), at the Hung Kings Temple in Tan Hiep commune, An Giang province, a ceremony was held to offer incense, commemorate and express gratitude to the Hung Kings who contributed to building and defending the country.
Chairman of Tan Hiep Commune People's Committee Le Thanh Hung expressed: The Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony is not only an occasion to express gratitude for the merits of the Hung Kings - those who contributed to building the country, but also a gathering point for the strength of the great national unity, fostering the will for self-reliance, self-strengthening, and the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy country.
Promoting the tradition of "Lạc children and Hồng grandchildren", in the past time, the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Hiep commune have made efforts to overcome difficulties, achieving many important and comprehensive results in all fields. The economy maintains stable growth momentum, total production value in 2025 increased by 9.67%; average income per capita reached 85 million VND/person/year. The economic structure is shifting in a positive direction, linking production with improving the value chain and sustainable development. The new rural construction program continues to improve quality; infrastructure, especially the rural transport system, is being synchronously invested and increasingly improved.
The cultural and social fields in the commune have many positive changes; social security is ensured; the multidimensional poverty rate has decreased to below 1.96%; the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improved. National defense and security are maintained; social order and safety are stable.
Before the spirits of the Hung Kings, the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Hiep commune wish to continue to promote the Tien Rong tradition, unite as one, strive to overcome all difficulties, innovate thinking, and act more drastically and effectively to build the commune to become increasingly rich, beautiful, and civilized.
The Hung Kings National Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony 2026 takes place from April 24-26 (March 8-10 of the lunar calendar) at the Hung Kings National Ancestor Temple in Tan Hiep commune, with many cultural and sports activities such as: chess and Chinese chess competitions; Chung cake wrapping and cooking contest, five-fruit tray display; amateur music exchange; photo exhibition about cultural and social achievements of the Hung King era with the theme "An Giang - Proud of Roots, Steadfast in the Future"; display and introduction of OCOP products...
The Hung Kings Temple in Tan Hiep commune was built in 1957, according to the wishes of the local people to commemorate and express gratitude to the Hung Kings, who contributed to building and defending the country in Vietnamese history. The construction of the temple stems from gratitude, the tradition of drinking water, remembering the source, as well as the desire to preserve national cultural values.
