Ho Chi Minh City Police block off gold shop, chase two young men for bold robberies
The authorities are urgently blocking off the scene and investigating the cause of the robbery that occurred at a gold shop on Dang Thuc Vinh Street, Dong Thanh Commune, Hoc Mon District this afternoon (May 5).
The two suspects quickly escaped after committing the crime.
The incident occurred at around 1:00 p.m., people in the area heard a loud shout from a gold shop on Dang Thuc Vinh Street, Dong Thanh Commune.
A witness present at the scene recounted: "When they heard the shouts, the two young men rushed into the car and ran away, even throwing away a bag, suspected to contain gold."
Another witness added that the two subjects promptly robbed some rings and gold bracelets before getting on the bus and escape from the scene.

Thousands of people wear the sun, queue up to worship the Buddha at Thanh Tam pagoda
In recent days, many people have flocked to Thanh Tam Pagoda (Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District) to see and worship the Buddha - the sacred treasure that was sent from India to Vietnam. This is also the opening activity for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival series.
The organizers have arranged a resting area, distributed free water and prepared separate walkways for the elderly and the disabled. Hundreds of volunteers who are monks, Buddhist students, and local security forces were mobilized to ensure order and guide Buddhists throughout the worship process.
According to information from the organizing committee, after the restoration period at Thanh Tam pagoda, the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni will be offered to Ba Den mountain (Tay Ninh province) from May 8 to May 13, then continue the journey to Quan Su pagoda (Hanoi) from May 13 to May 16 and Tam Chuc pagoda (Ha Nam) from May 17 to May 21, before returning to India.

Two ambulances collide in Can Tho
On May 5, two ambulances on duty collided at around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh - 3/2 Street in Hung Loi Ward, Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, one car has license plate 65A - 224.65 (Can Tho), the other car has license plate 64A - 211.03 (Vinh Long).
Many people who witnessed the incident said that both vehicles had priority light signals.
