Ho Chi Minh City will rename 283 neighborhoods when merging 80 wards.

Ho Chi Minh City proposed to rename 283 neighborhoods in 10 districts (Districts 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, Binh Thanh, Go Vap and Phu Nhuan) after merging 80 wards into 41 wards.

On the morning of December 9, at the 20th session, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee submitted to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council a proposal to rename neighborhoods in wards implementing administrative unit arrangement according to Resolution 1278 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 2023 - 2025.

According to Resolution 1278, Ho Chi Minh City will reorganize 80 wards in Districts 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, Binh Thanh, Go Vap and Phu Nhuan into 41 wards. These new wards will officially come into operation from January 1, 2025.

According to statistics, out of a total of 634 neighborhoods in 80 wards, 283 neighborhoods need to be renamed to match the new wards.

Construction of the second largest cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam underway

On December 9, Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Transport) held a ceremony to launch the construction of Package 15-XL to construct Dai Ngai 1 Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, part of the Dai Ngai Bridge Construction Investment Project.

Package 15-XL for construction of Dai Ngai 1 bridge and approach roads at both ends of the bridge has a total construction value of 3,907 billion VND.

Dai Ngai 1 Bridge is over 3km long, the main bridge is 2.59km long, 21.5m wide, crossing Dinh An channel of Hau River, near the East Sea estuary, connecting Tra Cu district (Tra Vinh province) to Cu Lao Dung district (Soc Trang province).

Hanoi transfers nearly 500 civil servants and public employees

In 2024, Hanoi had 471 cases of job position transfer, including 213 civil servants, 98 commune civil servants, and 160 public employees.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, every year, agencies and units must issue and publicize a plan for job position transfer in the first quarter as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 26 of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption.
